Middle School at The School of Arts and Enterprise is all about exploration and the development of foundational skills that will help students excel in high school and beyond. Arts are woven into the fabric of our academic curriculum, and students are taught to work with their artistic minds, instead of being put in a box with rigid plug-and-play curriculum. With all of the fixings of a traditional public school experience like dances, ASB, and clubs, The SAE acts as a magnet for artistically-inclined students to begin honing their craft and find their people.
Our 6th Grade experience is built to be an easier transition into middle school. Academic classes mimic the feel of an elementary class with thoughtful integration into the larger school population so 7th Grade doesn’t feel like such a huge step. Students in 7th and 8th Grade enjoy access to additional arts classes, electives, and college-prep courses at the High School campus.

Why Wait? 6th Grade at The SAE
You might be wondering why we begin a year earlier than some other middle schools in the area. The answer is simple: because creativity can’t wait!

A Time to Explore
At The SAE, we see Middle School as a time to explore. Our 6th grade students enroll in Integrated Arts – an introductory course that exposes students to the many artistic programs that we offer. After that you are free to explore a variety of arts courses through our Middle School Arts Pathways.
