At The School of Arts and Enterprise, our high school “Majors” are a unique component of The SAE experience – and a big part of student identity here on campus. But how do you figure out what major to choose? Or even what kind of artist you want to be? Here’s a hint: it starts with Middle School.
Creativity Accepted
The SAE is known for our incredible arts education and industry connections. Before you even walk through our door, you may think you need a portfolio of work that showcases your artistic talents. But you don’t! That’s right: The SAE is audition-free (and tuition-free!) for all learners, grades 6-12. We’re simply looking for creative students who are interested in the arts. Then, once you enroll at The SAE, we’ll help you reach as far as your dreams take you.
A Time to Explore
At The SAE, we see Middle School as a time to explore. Our 6th grade students enroll in Integrated Arts – an introductory course that exposes students to the many artistic programs that we offer. After that you are free to explore a variety of arts courses through our Middle School Arts Pathways. Many students use this time to find their area of passion as they get ready to select a 4-year course of study when they get to 9th grade.
Focus – If You Choose
Were you born to dance? Love to draw? Naturally musical? It’s good to be exposed to a variety of artistic mediums during your time at The SAE. But some students choose to enroll and focus on one pathway right away – and that’s OK! Our Middle School pathways include coursework in Dance, Music – Instrumental, Music – Vocal, Theatre Arts and Visual Arts – the choice is yours!
